Big Creek Township, MO (August 10, 2023) – A major crash was reported in Cass County that sent one man to a local hospital with significant injuries.
The accident was reported at around 3:00 p.m. on August 9.
Reports from Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. KM Hoover indicate that the driver of a 2017 Honda CRV failed to yield the right-of-way to a 2010 Toyota Tundra near the intersection of Missouri State Route 291 and East Hubach Hill Road. As a result, the two vehicles collided, resulting in both vehicles being totaled. The Honda came to rest in a ditch on the side of the road while the tundra remained on the roadway.
Two tow companies responded to the scene to remove the vehicles.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 38-year-old Christopher Fenske of Clinton, Missouri, was severely injured. He was transported by South Metro ambulance to Lees Summit Medical Center, where he underwent emergency treatment.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department is currently assisting in the investigation into the crash.
We hope Christopher Fenske recovers quickly.

Tens of thousands of crashes occur in the state of Missouri each year. The chances of a victim suffering serious injuries are dramatically increased when multiple vehicles are involved. Failure to yield crashes, in particular, can be devastating.
