Independence, MO (August 11, 2023) – EMS transported one woman to a local hospital with injuries following an automobile accident that occurred in Jackson County on Wednesday evening, August 9.
At around 5:05 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that the driver of a 2018 Ford Focus was traveling eastbound on Missouri State Route 210. For unknown reasons, they failed to stop at a red light near the intersection of Missouri State Route 291. As a result, the vehicle struck a 2013 Ford Focus. Both vehicles were severely damaged and towed from the scene.
One driver involved in the crash, identified as 71-year-old Clare Cummings of Richmond, Missouri, was injured. She was transported by EMS to North Kansas City Hospital for medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
