Kansas City, MO (August 23, 2023) – A man and a woman were both transported to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries following a truck accident that occurred on Monday afternoon, August 21.
At around 3:10 p.m., authorities in Platte County responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 29.
Official reports indicate that a 2017 Toyota Prius was traveling north on Interstate 29. As the vehicle approached 64th Street, it began to slow down due to a crash ahead on the road. For unknown reasons, a 2020 Freightliner crashed into the rear of the Toyota, leaving both vehicles with extensive damage.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Department and the Kansas City Police Department responded to assist.
Two people were injured in the accident. The victims were identified as 39-year-old Amanda Mike and 29-year-old Davontae McCutchen, both of Kansas City, Missouri. The two victims were transported by Kansas City Fire to St. Luke’s Barry Road Hospital for emergency treatment.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
We hope Davontae McCutchen and Amanda Mike recover quickly following this crash.
