Washington Township, MO (August 7, 2023) – On Sunday morning, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a fatal accident that claimed the life of 37-year-old Jennifer Farley of Blue Springs, Missouri.
At approximately 1257 a.m., troopers were called to an automobile accident that occurred on Interstate 70. Preliminary investigations show that a collision between a 2017 Hyundai Elantra in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade occurred on the westbound side of Interstate 70. Both vehicles involved in the accident were totaled and located on the roadway near mile marker 45.8.
Authorities rushed to the scene and immediately secured the area. Both of the involved vehicles were towed by Jackson County tow company.
Farley, who was a passenger in the Elantra, was fatally injured. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Multiple other victims were injured in the accident. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to render aid to 46-year-old Terry Ashley, 43-year-old Katrina Dolezal, 35-year-old James Brewer, 33-year-old Shelby Brewer, a 13-year-old male, and a one-year-old female. All of the injured victims were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.
The accident is being investigated at this time.
