Platte Township, MO (June 27, 2023) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a major crash in Platte County that left one woman with significant injuries.
The accident was reported to MSHP at around 12:10 p.m. on June 26.
According to official reports, a 2018 Ford F2 50 pickup truck was traveling northbound on Interstate 29 when a deer entered the roadway in front of it. As a result, the Ford began to slow down near mile marker 12.8. For reasons unknown, a 2023 Ford Expedition crashed into the rear of the pickup truck. Both vehicles were severely damaged as a result of the accident.
One woman involved in the accident, identified as 36-year-old Jasmine Williams of Independence, Missouri, suffered injuries in the accident. She was transported to St. Luke’s Barry Road Hospital by Kansas City Fire EMS.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
