Car Accidents in Missouri

Tens of thousands of people across Missouri are left with injuries as a result of car crashes that take place every year in our state. Although accidents can take place at any location, we see a significant number of crashes occur at busy intersections.

According to statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), approximately 36% of all traffic collisions occur at intersections across the United States. Here in Missouri, we see many people injured as a result of accidents caused by negligent drivers. Some of the leading factors of car crashes at intersections in Missouri include:

  • Poor visibility: Some intersections may have poor visibility due to obstructions. Other factors that can lead to poor visibility include defective traffic control devices and even inadequate lighting, which can make it harder for drivers to see other vehicles or pedestrians.
  • Turning Vehicles: Many collisions occur when a driver makes a turn at an intersection, either by failing to yield the right of way or by turning too wide or too fast.
  • Speeding: Some drivers may speed through intersections, which increases the likelihood of accidents.
