Kansas City, MO – Amy Gaugh Injured in Crash on I-29 at NW 56th St

Kansas City, MO (November 17, 2023) – A 40-year-old female was transported to an area hospital following a crash that took place in Platte County. The accident was reported to the Missouri State Highway Patrol at around 7:50 a.m. on November 15. The accident occurred on Interstate 29.

Preliminary investigations provided by MSHP Cpl. JM Harrison show that a 2023 Kia K5 and a 2014 Ford Edge where both heading southbound on Interstate 29. As the vehicles approached the intersection of Northwest 56th Street, they came upon traffic congestion. The driver of the Kia began to slow the vehicle as a result.

For unknown reasons, the driver of the Ford overtook the Kia and crashed into the rear of the vehicle. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene. Emergency medical services confirmed that Amy Gaugh of Kansas City, Missouri, was injured in the accident. She was transported to Liberty Hospital by Kansas City EMS for emergency care. The incident is currently being investigated.
