Lone Jack, MO – Two Hurt in Crash on US-50 at Route F

Lone Jack, MO (November 22, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Lone Jack area ended in injuries. The accident occurred at around 3:20 p.m. on November 20. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that they were needed at the scene of the crash, which was on US Highway 50.

Reports indicate that the driver of a 1998 Ford Mustang failed to yield the right of way to a 2023 Toyota Sienna on the westbound side of US Highway 50. As a result, the vehicles collided at the intersection of Route F. Both vehicles were damaged extensively and had to be towed from the scene.

SNI Valley EMS responded to the scene and rendered aid to 18-year-old Kody Conard and 45-year-old Aaron Henson. Both victims were transported to Centerpoint Hospital for further care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.

We hope Kody Conard and Aaron Henson recover quickly.

Car Accidents in Missouri

Tens of thousands of drivers and passengers across Missouri are left injured as a result of auto wrecks that take place every year in our state. Although accidents can take place at any location, we see a significant number of crashes occur at busy intersections.

Based on data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it's evident that roughly 36% of traffic accidents in the United States take place at intersections. Missouri is no exception to this trend, with a significant number of individuals suffering injuries due to the actions of reckless drivers. Some of the leading causes of motor vehicle wrecks in Missouri include:

  • Speeding: Some drivers may speed through intersections, which increases the likelihood of accidents.
  • Turning Vehicles: Many collisions occur when a driver makes a turn at an intersection, either by failing to yield the right of way or by turning too wide or too fast.
  • Poor visibility: Some intersections may have poor visibility due to obstructions. Other factors that can lead to poor visibility include defective traffic control devices and even inadequate lighting, which can make it harder for drivers to see other vehicles or pedestrians.
