Warrensburg, MO (November 16, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Warrensburg area resulted in injuries, according to local law enforcement. The Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers out of Johnson County responded to the scene of the crash at approximately 1:45 p.m. on November 14.
According to MSHP reports, a 2004 Pontiac Aztec failed to slow down for a 2023 RAM 2500 Promaster van while traveling on Missouri State Route 13. As a result, the two vehicles collided as the driver of the RAM attempted to make a turn. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash. Authorities closed off the highway near Northwest 525 Road as they provided assistance with removing the vehicles.
Two people were injured in the crash. Authorities confirmed that 23-year-old Joshua Quinones Ocasio was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for the treatment of moderate injuries. The second victim, 34-year-old Donald Cunningham, was transported to Centerpoint Hospital.
The crash is being investigated.
