Kansas City, MO (October 15, 2023) – Emergency officials were called to the scene of an automobile accident on the north side of Kansas City that resulted in injuries.
The accident occurred at around 11:50 a.m. on October 13.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2012 Toyota Camry was slowing down for traffic congestion on the south side of Interstate 35. For unknown reasons, the vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2010 Mercedes E Class near Bedford Avenue.
Both vehicles suffered significant damage as a result of the crash.
Two people in the Toyota, identified as 48-year-old Dionne Almendarez and 69-year-old Alex Almendarez, both of Martinez, California, were injured. The two victims were transported by Kansas City police to North Kansas City Hospital for emergency.
The incident is being investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at this time.
