Holden, MO (April 9, 2024) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that 36-year-old Ronnie Joy of Holden, Missouri, lost his life following a Johnson County crash that occurred on Monday morning, April 8.
According to preliminary reports provided by Master Sgt. RW Shaul with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2023 Ford F150 pickup truck collided on US Highway 50 at around 5:50 a.m. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the motorcycle with severe damage near County Road 1201. Emergency officials immediately shut down the roadway while assisting. Reports indicate that the motorcycle and the truck collided, resulting in the motorcycle overturning and ejecting the driver. The driver, identified as Joy, was severely hurt in the crash. He was rushed by EMS to Western Missouri Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. The incident is currently being investigated.
