Blue Springs, MO (August 24, 2024) – Two people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Jackson County. Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene at around 1:02 p.m. on August 22.
Police reports show that a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2017 Kia Forte collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 40 just west of Bowlin Road. Both of the vehicles were severely damaged in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. Two people involved in the accident were injured. Emergency medical services rendered aid to 18-year-old Charles Epperson and 30-year-old Ruby Medrando. Both victims were transported to Centerpoint Hospital for emergency care. The accident is being investigated.
