North Kansas City, MO (February 16, 2024) – A multivehicle motorcycle accident took place in Clay County on Thursday morning, sending one man to an area hospital with serious injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified of the accident at around 7:35 a.m. on February 15.

Preliminary reports show that a 1993 Buick Century was traveling on the southbound side of Interstate 35 when it crashed into the rear of a 2013 Chevrolet Impala near mile marker 5.6. A 2016 Ford Fiesta sideswiped the Buick before colliding with a 2014 Harley Davidson. The Buick, Harley, and Chevrolet all sustained significant damage in the accident. The three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The motorcycle operator, identified as 47-year-old Tommy Brewer of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, was seriously injured. Brewer was transported by North Kansas City Fire Department EMS to Truman Medical Center for emergency care. At this time, the Highway Patrol is investigating.

We hope Tommy Brewer recovers quickly following this accident.
