Kansas City, MO (January 20, 2024) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that 56-year-old Betty Barnes of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Clay County. Authorities were notified of the crash at approximately 2:50 p.m. on January 19.
According to law enforcement reports, a 1999 GMC Suburban crashed into a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu after striking a guardrail on the southbound side of Interstate 29 near Davidson Road. Both vehicles were totaled as a result of the accident. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Barnes, was injured in the accident. Kansas City Fire EMS transported Barnes to North Kansas City Hospital for medical care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
