Kansas City, MO – Injury Accident on I-70 near Blue Ridge Cutoff

Kansas City, MO (January 18, 2024) – The Missouri Department of Transportation confirmed severe delays in traffic as a result of an injury motor vehicle accident that occurred in Kansas City on Wednesday morning. Calls for help came in at approximately 10:00 a.m. on January 17.

Reports provided by MDOT out of Kansas City indicate that an automobile accident occurred on the westbound side of Interstate 70. The incident blocked all four lanes on the road westbound side of the roadway near Truman Sports Complex, just past the Blue Ridge Cutoff. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway for more than two hours as emergency crews worked to remove the involved. Injuries were reported as a result of the accident. Medical personnel responded to the site of the collision to care for the injured victims. At least one of the involved parties was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for medical care. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
