Northmoor, MO (January 28, 2024) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that two people were injured as a result of an automobile accident that took place on Thursday evening in Clay County. Calls for help were received at around 4:15 p.m. on January 25.
According to law enforcement, a 2020 Freightliner trash truck crashed into a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban on the southbound side of Interstate 29 near mile marker 3.3. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway as emergency crews assisted in removing the involved vehicles and debris. Two people were injured as a result of the crash. The victims were identified as 44-year-old Carlos Miles and 38-year-old Demetrius Walker. Walker was transported to North Kansas City Hospital for emergency care. Miles sought treatment on his own. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
