Washington Twp., MO (January 31, 2024) – On January 28, emergency officials were called to provide assistance at the scene of a car crash that took place in Lafayette County. The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m.
According to reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1998 GMC 1500 was traveling southbound in the area of Route U and Route H during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer pulled into the path of the vehicle, resulting in the two vehicles colliding. Both vehicles were totaled as a result of the collision. The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to assist. The driver of the GMC, a 17-year-old female from Edessa, Missouri, was injured. She was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center, where she was treated and evaluated for her injuries. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
