Clinton, MO (July 1, 2024) – Three people were injured in a motor vehicle accident that involved two vehicles and a runaway boat in Benton County. Authorities were informed of the crash at around 945 p.m. on June 29.
Official reports indicate that a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was traveling on the northbound side of Highway 7 while playing the scene of a previous accident. As the vehicle approached the area just 2/10 of a mile south of Southeast 1301 Road, the vehicle lost a Pontoon boat that it was towing. As a result, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2016 Kia Soul in the area began skidding down the roadway to avoid colliding with the vehicle. The two vehicles collided. All three vehicles were towed from the scene. Three people were hurt in the crash. Emergency medical services rendered aid to 18-year-old Tyler Mead, 26-year-old Sean Weaver, and 28-year-old Moe Naing. Naing and Weaver were transported by EMS to Golden Valley Hospital. The crash is currently being investigated.
