Lee’s Summit, MO (July 25, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a major crash that claimed one person’s life while leaving multiple other victims injured. The collision occurred at around 9:05 p.m. on July 23.

According to official reports, a collision between a 2022 Honda HR-V and a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt occurred on Blue Parkway, US Highway 50. The incident resulted in the closure of the roadway near Milton Thompson Road. Multiple people involved in the crash were injured. EMS rendered aid to a 17-year-old male, a 17-year-old female, 18-year-old Preston McCarty, 19-year-old Nathanael Jankura, and 19-year-old Mercadez Baker. Baker and McCarty were then transported to Research Hospital by EMS. Jankura and the two juveniles were transported to Centerpoint Hospital for emergency treatment. One additional victim, identified as a 15-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
