Peculiar, MO (July 2, 2024) – Emergency crews were summoned to provide assistance at the scene of a car crash that occurred in Cass County and ended in injuries. The collision was reported to law enforcement at around 1:00 p.m. on July 1.
According to police reports, a 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound on Interstate 49. As the vehicle began to slow for congestion near mile marker 164, a 2014 Buick Encore slowed down as well. At the same time, a 2012 Toyota Prius was driving behind the vehicles. The Toyota crashed into the rear of the Buick. The impact of the collision caused the Buick to strike the Ford.
Two people were hurt in the accident. 19-year-old Kinsley Brannon and 47-year-old Michelle Riley were both treated for injuries at the scene. Riley was then transported to Cass County Regional Medical Center by West Peculiar Fire EMS for emergency treatment. The incident is being investigated at this time.
