Car Accidents in Missouri

Every year in Missouri, thousands of drivers and passengers suffer injuries in car accidents that occur throughout our state. While accidents can happen anywhere, a significant number of them occur at busy intersections.

According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), approximately 36% of traffic accidents in the United States occur at intersections. Missouri mirrors this trend, with many individuals getting injured due to the actions of reckless drivers. Some of the primary causes of car wrecks in Missouri include:

  • Speeding: Drivers rushing through intersections increase the chances of accidents.
  • Turning Vehicles: Accidents often happen when a driver turns at an intersection, either by not yielding the right of way or by making wide or fast turns.
  • Poor Visibility: Some intersections have limited visibility due to obstructions. Factors like defective traffic control devices and insufficient lighting can also contribute to poor visibility, making it harder for drivers to see other vehicles or pedestrians.
