Lee’s Summit, MO (June 20, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Lee’s Summit area ended in injuries. The crash was reported to authorities at around 8:05 a.m. on June 19.
According to official reports, a 2017 Ford Explorer and a 2016 Jeep Renegade collided on the southbound side of Interstate 470. The incident prompted the closure of the roadway near Strother Road. Both of the involved vehicles were towed from the scene due to the extent of damage. One person was hurt in the crash. EMS responded to the scene to render aid to 48-year-old Christy Mathews. She was then transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for further treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
