Lee’s Summit, MO (March 18, 2024) – Emergency crews were summoned to provide help at the scene of an automobile accident that occurred in Jackson County and ended in injuries. At around 4:10 p.m. on March 16, authorities were notified that an accident occurred on Highway 50.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2012 Kia Forte was traveling on Highway 50 when a 2023 Chevrolet Volt attempted to turn in front of them near East Easley Road. As a result, the Kia swerved to avoid a collision. However, the two vehicles collided and suffered totaling damages. Two people involved in the accident were injured. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to treat 38-year-old Matthew Goss of Holden, Missouri, and 69-year-old Charleen Dale of the Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Southern Jackson County EMS transported Goss to Research Hospital for emergency treatment. Dale was transported by Lone Jack fire EMS to Centerpoint Hospital. The incident is being investigated at this time.
