Lee’s Summit, MO (March 27, 2024) — A motor vehicle accident was reported in Jackson County on March 25. It occurred at around 5:50 p.m.
According to reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. BA Owens, a 2008 Ford Escape, crashed into the rear of a 2018 Ford Explorer while traveling on the northbound side of Interstate 470. As a result, the Ford Explorer crashed into the rear of a 2007 Saturn Aura near mile marker 12. All three vehicles were severely damaged in the accident and had to be towed from the scene. Two people involved in the crash were injured. Emergency medical services transported a 5-year-old male victim to Children’s Mercy Hospital for emergency treatment. The second victim, 22-year-old Sydney Boyd, was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
