Oak Grove, MO (May 3, 2024) – One person was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a multi-vehicle accident report in Jackson County on Tuesday morning, April 30. Emergency officials were notified of the accident just before 11:40 a.m.

Official reports indicate that a 2009 Lincoln and a 2023 Kenworth semi-truck collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 70 near mile marker 28. The impact of the crash caused the Lincoln to go off the roadway and collide with a guard rail. The vehicle then reentered the roadway and collided with a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer. The Lincoln was totaled as a result of the accident. One person involved in the collision was injured. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to care for 25-year-old Gage Lawler. Lawler was subsequently transported to Lee’s Summit Medical Center for treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
