Lee’s Summit, MO (September 30, 2024) – Several people were transported to area hospitals with injuries as a result of a car crash that occurred in Jackson County. The collision took place at around 8:35 a.m. on September 29.
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan collided with a 2021 Toyota Highlander on the southbound side of Interstate 470. The impact of the crash caused the Volkswagen to go off the right side of the road and collide with a metal pole before catching on fire. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down the roadway near mile marker 10.2. Both vehicles are totaled in the crash and had to be towed from the scene. Three people involved in the accident were injured. Emergency medical services rendered aid to a 13-year-old female, 30-year-old Kayla Hardridge, and 41-year-old Angela Strandburg. The three victims were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center for emergency care. The accident is under investigation.
