Pleasant Valley, MO (September 7, 2024) - On September 6, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Clay County and left one person seriously injured. The accident took place at around 7:50 a.m.

Police reports show that a 2010 Chevrolet HHR was attempting to change lanes while traveling on the southbound side of Interstate 35. As the vehicle proceeded through the area near mile marker 13.6, it collided with a 2013 Nissan NV200. The impact of the crash sent both cars into the rear of a 1997 Kenworth W900. The Chevrolet continued forward and collided with a 2008 Ford Edge. The Nissan and Chevrolet were totaled as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene. A 64-year-old female involved in the accident, identified as Terri Simmons of Holt, Missouri, was transported by ambulance to North Kansas City Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
