Sedalia, MO (September 5, 2024) - Emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Pettis County on Tuesday evening, September 3. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified of the accident just after 7:00 p.m.

Official reports show that a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling near the area of southbound US Highway 65 and Rebar Road during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, the vehicle failed to stop at a red light. As a result, the car collided with a 1991 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck. The impact of the crash sent one of the vehicles off the roadway, where it collided with a light pole. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet 1500, identified as 62-year-old Charles Lawson, was injured in the crash. Lawson, who is from Sedalia, Missouri, was transported to Bothwell Hospital by EMS for emergency care. The accident is currently being investigated.
