In the Kansas Statutes, "Electronic Solicitation" is found under K.S.A. ยง 21-5509. As a severity level 3, person felony, electronic solicitation of a child between 14 and 16 years old could be punished by up to 100 months in prison and a maximum fine of $300,000. If the child is under 14, however, it is a severity level 1, person felony and is punishable by up to a $500,000 fine and life in prison.
